J. Lynn Trahan

Creative Designer & Branding Specialist

One of the most important choices we can make is choosing a career we will enjoy because regardless of how we choose to generate our financial independence, we will spend an incredible amount of time doing it.  I’m blessed to say, I enjoy my work, and that enjoyment only enhances my ambition to succeed and solidifies my dedication to each of my clients.

Write Way Web Design commenced in 2015 when I was approached to create a website for a tobacco pipe salesman. He had intentions of building a website on GoDaddy but quickly realized he would not be allowed due to their strict policy of not advertising anything alcohol, tobacco, or firearms related.  I’ve been assisting startups and small establishments with their business-related issues ever since. I had toyed with designing websites during the days of “Classmates” blogs and when I held an advertising job in Real Estate back in the early 2000’s. Writing was a passion since I was old enough to read so the two seemed to complement one another. I was new to Louisiana after working a short stent offshore and was seeking something more challenging than bartending.

As a child, I had a difficult time unwinding. I appeared to think on a deeper level than most people. I held a natural curiosity about life, and I asked a lot of questions. We’ve all met those precocious (and obnoxious) 5-year-olds. Question upon question, and if that happens then why does this happen? Well, if that happens, then why this? (It’s okay. Insert eye roll here.) I became quite a philosopher by the ripe old age of 10. My inquisitive nature led me to see all sides of an issue and I would ponder internal debates. I admit, to this day, I haven’t figured everything out. I still can’t spend too much time wondering, “How did people become different colors if it all started with Adam and Eve, and, “If we started with 2, are we all cousins? Does this mean we marry people we are related to? Is everybody inbred?” “How did Noah build a boat that big for 2 animals? Did he bring the bad snake, too?” It’s okay. You can feel sorry for my mother. She informed me recently how I argued with her about how I could “change colors” with my eyes. I was 8. She’s 85 with breast cancer, so I limit my explanations these days, but I will share with you…. In my mind, I can see things in different colors, and that’s why I can envision things like changing business logos to match the voice of their brand. And let me tell you, it isn’t always easy telling someone their logo or tagline is not the most effective way they should portray their business.

I’ve always held an innate empathy and compassion for others. “Thoughtfulness” is one of my esteemed characteristics. However, often I’ve thought more about feelings than consequences and although that doesn’t necessarily get you far in life, it has given me an edge in understanding where my clients are coming from. These innate aspects of my personality are part of why I enjoy my work and what has assisted me in excelling at it. When I write a client’s bio or about their business, I get to peel back the layers and delve into their mindset and their heart and see parts of them most are not privy to. If I had a dollar for every time I was asked, “How did you know that about me? We only spoke for a few minutes. It’s like I wrote it myself.” It’s because I understand people, often better than they understand themselves. And capturing what is special and unique about them is what drives me…. This is my purpose. I find what makes them exclusive and I run with it.

I had someone ask me an excellent question everyone should ask anyone they ever hire. He said, “Why should I hire you? What makes you different than others?” I said, “Didn’t you receive the memo? My eldest daughter says I’m extra, and you said you contacted me because my design was dope. I’m extra and dope. This type of dedication doesn’t come with every business. It comes with me.”

The essence of me is, I’m a visionary. I see potential in every person. Potential in every business. It’s my job to put you in the spotlight. That’s why I changed my logo to a lightbulb I call “Briteway.” I’m not just web design or writing. My business is far because my clients needed more. I take care of all your business needs and if I don’t have the expertise to do it myself, I will find someone I trust who does. Why would I go beyond what I need to if I have no financial gain? Ask my daughter and she will tell you,  “My mom’s extra!”

What Our Clients Say

It’s my pleasure to strongly recommend J Lynn from Write Way. I am Mike Coulter, CEO of Old Pipes Rule. I have 35-plus years in big box retail upper management and have seen many professionals come and go. Lynn is one individual I have worked with who uniquely stands out. During our time together as she created my website I was immediately impressed with Lynn’s skills. It’s not just the technical skills that impress me, however, Lynn was a joy to work with because of her amazingly positive attitude and a trait that separates her from all the rest. That trait is Passion for what she does! From the building process to explaining to me in detail how to operate and how the marketing works on my site, her passion shone through in creating my company a state-of-the-art website.

I am absolutely confident that Lynn can tailor a website for your company. Not only does she bring skills and experience you’re looking for in a designer, but you will find her passion will become an asset to your company.
